This one hour long session is conducted on zoom to consider the application of neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) to improve gait or upper limb function in children. NMES offers benefits such as increased muscle strength, range of motion and function in children with Cerebral Palsy.
This webinar will discuss the fundamentals of NMES treatments in paediatric neurorehabilitation. We will explore the physiological, anatomical and practical considerations that apply to performing NMES treatments with paediatric patients. We will then consider treatment approaches for managing various commonly encountered symptoms and of paediatric neurodisability, with examples of suitable devices, parameters and applications.
